Welcoming VicPD’s New Deputy Chief Natalie Hiltz

The Greater Victoria Police Foundation is delighted to welcome Natalie Hiltz as the Victoria Police Department’s new Deputy Chief. She was sworn in as VicPD’s second in command by Chief Fiona Wilson on July 21, arriving with more than 30 years of policing experience – most recently three years as Deputy Chief of Operations with the Greater Sudbury Police Service, following 28 years with Peel Regional Police.

Deputy Chief Hiltz’s career spans frontline operations, criminal investigations, intelligence services, critical incident management and community safety initiatives, with a stated focus on evidence-informed policing and meaningful partnerships.

GVPF Chair Deirdre Campbell and Executive Director Sam Krzywonos recently had the pleasure of meeting Deputy Chief Hiltz, and both came away impressed not only by the depth of her experience, but by her enthusiasm for working closely with the GVPF program committee.

Welcome to Greater Victoria, Deputy Chief Hiltz!
