Police Camp
Building Greater Victoria Students’ Self-Confidence & Interpersonal Relationships
The Greater Victoria Police Foundation’s Police Camp, modelled after the successful program that ran in the Capital Region from 1996 to 2014, is a leadership program for youth that connects them with officers from the policing agencies of Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich and Victoria, including Esquimalt.
Over eight days, 50 students:
- undertake classroom lecture discussing a wide variety of leadership and public safety topics
- are challenged with daily physical training and activities
- learn drill instruction
- explore social responsibility and good citizenship
- learn vital life skills
- and much more
Students build self-confidence and interpersonal relationships with their peers in a team-based environment, where they also form long-term connections with members of our police services.
