Building Greater Victoria Students’ Self-Confidence & Interpersonal Relationships
The Greater Victoria Police Foundation’s Police Camp, modelled after the successful program that ran in the Capital Region from 1996 to 2014, is a leadership program for youth that connects them with officers from the policing agencies of Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich and Victoria, including Esquimalt and local RCMP agencies.
Over eight days, 50 students:
- undertake classroom lecture discussing a wide variety of leadership and public safety topics
- are challenged with daily physical training and activities
- learn drill instruction
- explore social responsibility and good citizenship
- learn vital life skills
- create lifelong friendships
- and much more!
Students build self-confidence and interpersonal relationships with their peers in a team-based environment, where they also form long-term connections with members of our police services.
