Mentorship Program

Supporting, Empowering & Inspiring Greater Victoria Youth

The Greater Victoria Police Foundation’s Mentorship Program aims to support, empower and inspire youth through facilitating trust-based and respectful mentorship connections with police officers from Victoria, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, Saanich and Central Saanich. It also aims to nurture strong, two-way relationships between police and youth in the communities where they are based.

While activities will be determined by the pairs, the program is intended to be fun and to nurture open conversation.

It is anticipated that mentees will learn important life skills as well as to learn and observe the positive outcomes that arise from service to one’s community.

Mentors and mentees will meet between 6 and 12 times per year, for at least an hour each time. Mentors and mentees will discuss and mutually agree to their own desired outcomes from their partnership.
