The 50 attendees for Police Camp 2026, to be held March 14–21, 2026 at St. Margaret’s School, have been selected! Police Camp has quickly re-established itself as one of the Foundation’s cornerstone programs, offering an eight‑day, no‑cost leadership experience for students in Grades 10–12 from across Greater Victoria. The camp is delivered in partnership with officers from Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich and Victoria, including Esquimalt and local RCMP.
Over the course of the week, students take part in classroom sessions on leadership and public safety, daily physical training, drill instruction, and hands‑on learning that explores social responsibility, good citizenship and practical life skills. Activities in recent camps have included forensics and break‑and‑enter simulations, K9 demonstrations, marine policing exercises and air support demonstrations, all designed to build confidence and teamwork in a structured, supportive environment.
All of these experiences are evident in what Aldous, a grade 12 student, recently shared with us about his experience at Police Camp 2025.
“Police Camp is truly a once in a lifetime experience. There’s nothing I can even compare it to, it’s just that amazing! Although one week sounds short each day was jammed packed with activities, lessons and fun giving me a full and intense experience, in the best way possible. I met so many amazing people, police officers and other students. I formed several friendships that are still going strong to this day. If anyone is on the fence about going to Police Camp I hope my words have given you that little push you needed to do it! Because I promise you won’t regret it. One of the most incredible experiences of my life!”
– Aldous, Police Camp 2025 Attendee
Later this month, we’ll welcome the 50 selected students and their parents or guardians for a dedicated Police Camp 2026 orientation evening at St. Margaret’s School. Orientation is an important moment where families meet the leadership team, learn about expectations and schedules, and hear more about the safety, wellness and support structures that are in place throughout the week long camp.
It is also an opportunity for students to begin forming connections with each other and with the officers who will mentor them during camp, easing first‑day nerves and reinforcing that Police Camp is about growth, respect and mutual trust.
None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of our donors, our regional police services, our Police Camp alumni and their families, and the many volunteers who give their time and expertise. Your commitment allows us to offer transformative programs like Police Camp at no cost to participants and to create life‑changing opportunities for youth who may never otherwise have had access to this kind of leadership experience.
Every gift helps young people grow, lead, and thrive. Please consider donating and be part of something that is changing lives and strengthening youth leadership in our community.
