After several months of planning, we are pleased to share that the GVPF Mentorship program is now accepting applications. Our objective is to match 30 pairs in our first year – please consider applying to this unique program or sharing it with your network or youth you know who may be interested.
The GVPF Mentorship program aims to support, empower and inspire youth through facilitating trust-based and respectful mentorship connections with police officers from Victoria, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, Saanich and Central Saanich.
The program supports a mentorship relationship for up to a year and the specific programming and meeting format is determined by each mentor/mentee pairing.
While the goals of each mentor/mentee pairing are up to each participant, the GVPF’s goal is to continue building bridges between our police services and the communities they serve while providing unique opportunities for youth to maximize their potential.
For anyone who wanted to go to Police Camp but couldn’t, this is your chance to experience some of the same elements such as life skills training, relationship building and self-confidence development in a one-on-one format.
