New Foundation Leadership

New Foundation Leadership

The Greater Victoria Police Foundation is entering a new chapter of leadership!

In September, the GVPF welcomed its first dedicated Executive Director, Samantha Krzywonos (above). Samantha is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) who brings more than two decades of experience in volunteer leadership, philanthropy and community-focused fundraising. Her background in academic and healthcare philanthropy, combined with deep local connections and volunteer service with organizations such as the Navy League and Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre, positions the Foundation for thoughtful, sustainable growth.

Alongside this new staff leadership the GVPF Board has undergone a planned transition, with long-time Board member Deirdre Campbell stepping into the role of Chair, and two new Board members joining – Gerald Hartwig and Natalie Benson.

Both Gerald and Natalie bring valuable expertise and strong community connections that will enhance the board’s ability to guide the Foundation through its next phase of development. Their perspectives will support the board’s ongoing efforts to expand programming, deepen impact and ensure the Foundation continues to operate with transparency and accountability to the community it serves.

Looking ahead, the board is focused on building upon the momentum of the past year. With the success of our Building Bridges fundraiser breakfast, the continued growth of Police Camp and Junior Police Camp, and the addition of dedicated staff leadership, the Foundation is now planning for the expansion of its youth programming and mentorship initiatives across Greater Victoria. This includes working closely with police services in Victoria, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich and regional Indigenous and community partners to ensure programming reflects local needs and supports positive, trust-based relationships between youth and police.
